Expectations

Writer: Vice A. VirtuVice A. Virtu

Wanting a life free from expectations is the same as saying you don't want anyone to count on you.

The more people expect from you, the more they value you as a coworker, friend, partner etc.

It is a testament to your capability, experience, trust and worth.

Afterthoughts

  • Freedom from expectations also means you have no right to expect anything from anyone else.

  • Living up to expectations might be hard and feel demanding - but Living without anyone ever expecting anything from you, is probably way worse.

  • Saying you don't expect anything from anyone else to justify it is nothing other than cowardly.

  • It is also almost never the truth.
